Privacy notice
iMyoS Board app and Secretariat dashboard. Last updated: 12 October 2026.
Who is responsible
EEM Business Events & Association Management, Via Italia 1, 00040 Rocca di Papa, Italy, is the data controller. It also processes the data, because it provides the secretariat service of the International Myositis Society (iMyoS) and runs this app. Privacy questions: privacy@eemservices.com.
What the app collects
- Account: your name, e-mail address, title and level (Small Board, Board, committee member), assigned by the Secretariat.
- Use of the app: your answers to meetings and polls, whether you have read an announcement, agenda items you propose, requests and messages you send to the Secretariat and files you attach, action points assigned to you.
- Device: the time zone of your phone (to show times correctly) and an identifier used to send you notifications.
- Optional directory profile: if you choose to appear in the member directory, your name, title, e-mail, institution, country and expertise are visible to other members. You can remove it at any time.
The app does not use your location, contains no advertising and does not track you across other apps or websites.
Why we use it
To run the governance of the society: invitations and reminders, documents and minutes, announcements and requests to the Secretariat. Legal basis: the legitimate interest of the society in managing its Board and committees; your consent for the optional directory profile.
Calendar and notifications
If you allow it, the app adds the meetings you answer to the calendar you choose, and updates or removes them if the meeting changes. It does not read your other appointments for any other purpose. Notifications carry meeting reminders, replies from the Secretariat and announcements; you can turn them off in the app or in your phone settings.
Who sees your data
The Secretariat (EEM) and, for what concerns them, the members of your group. Service providers acting on our behalf: Google Firebase (database, authentication, file storage and hosting, with data stored in the European Union), Expo (delivery of push notifications) and Google (sending of e-mail, such as your sign-in code). Your data is not sold and is not used for advertising.
How long we keep it
While you are a member. Requests and their files are kept as long as the Secretariat needs them for the society's records, then deleted. You can ask for your data to be deleted at any time.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection, and you may complain to your data protection authority. Write to privacy@eemservices.com.
